Let's Reflect on 2019...

Sure, I'm only a week late to the whole 'new year' reflection period, but I think this year I'm gonna give myself a little grace when it comes to stuff like that. I'm going to start living on my own schedule and do what feels right to me. You know why? Cause 2019 was a crazy freakin awesome year that I accomplished a lot, and I feel like 2020 is going to be all about growing and learning and following my intuition, cause 2019 taught me that my intuition is pretty damn good.

Before we start talking about 2020, I need to take the time to really reflect on this past year...

In 2019 I decided to quit my job two months after having my second baby and launch my own business. In 2019 I spent more time with my family. In 2019 I got in charge of my finances. In 2019 I failed... a lot. In 2019 I realized I could do really hard things - like exclusively breastfeed a baby (while building a business), like run a half marathon after training for just 6 weeks, like land contracts that made me cry.

I think we all tend to get stuck in the every day stresses of to-do lists and sometimes to forget look how far we've come. And I want to take more time to do that.

I think the biggest thing I've learned this past year is that I am in complete control of my successes - and also my failures. It's the most empowering feeling, if you really let it marinate. YOU have absolute control of your happiness simply by believing and adjusting your outlook on things a bit. Positivity breeds positivity. Hard works breeds rewards.

I've also learned that I have an incredible support system. Gosh, I don't know where I'd be without my family, my friends and my husband. I'd probably still be stuck in the cycle of self-pity that consumed 2018.

I have so many big ideas for 2020, and the fun part is, I'm actually going to accomplish them! Stay tuned because Simple & Inspired has some fun stuff in the works!
