Warm Winter Ruffles
Wherever you are when you are reading this. I hope you are warmer than me. HA! But seriously, this winter has been strangely cold for me and I've been driving David nutso telling him just how cold I am all the time. Fun fact that you may or may not know about me - I grew up in Western New York where winters are downright brutal. Growing up I never gave having a white Christmas a second thought, it was just a given. Now that I live in Virginia, winters are certainly less snowy, but still just as cold! This weather is giving my skin and my hair a run for its money. Anyone have any tips on how to manage dry skin and static-y hair? The constant heat blowing on me whether I'm at home, at the office or even in the car is driving me crazy and I need a break. I've been known to run a dryer sheet or two over my hair, but even that's not working!
Let's talk about this outfit. First - these boots! All the heart eye emojis, amiright? I've been craving a pair of over the knee boots, but with thicker legs, I was intimidated by plenty of pairs. I think the secret to OTK boots for those of us with meat on our legs is to avoid the thick, leathery, sturdy material (not that these aren't sturdy, they are just more fabric-y) and go for the stretchy, fitted types like the ones I have on. These bad boys have a short zipper in the rear ankle, but literally pull up my leg like leggings and hug tight to my leg, which is also great for added warmth! PS. David bought me these for Christmas - such a sweetheart! But they are currently 50% off making them under $70! That is such a steal for Steve Madden shoes!
Next, this sweater! It's a total dupe for a more expensive pair, but when I saw another blogger wearing this version of it and saw it was only $20 I snagged it immediately. I took it in a small, but I actually wish I had sized up one for a bigger fit. Anyways, I have been known to rag on chenille material because it bothers me for some reason or another, but I don't mind it in black! I know, I'm crazy. Plus the sleeves on this beauty add just the right amount of flare. I'd say you probably need this in your wardrobe, and for $20, you can't really go wrong. Oh, did I mention that it's extremely warm?!

Lastly, my jeans are my go to, every day denim and they are currently having an awesome BOGO 50% promotion. I always take advantage of this sale cause you can pretty much grab two pairs of jeans/pants for under $65 if you do it right!Welp, this post was just a bunch of rambling, but I'm okay with that if you are! PS, I'm going to shamelessly plug my Instagram, too. If you don't follow me over there, you should! I'll even make it easy and give you the link so you have no excuses :) Ok... I'll stop now!
