My Spring Fitness Challenge
Okay, mother nature. Enough already. I'm ready for this final snowstorm of the season to start, just so that it can be over with already. In reality, we have had a really mild winter. However, with all the up and down weather, I feel like we have been sick non-stop. Finn's nose hasn't stopped running since Thanksgiving, and he was just diagnosed with a double ear infection! That kid is a champ though, you would never know he was sick. He's always got a smile on his face.Today marks the start of my "summer body" focus (any Vanderpump Rules fans get the reference, eh?) My plan is to go without any sweets until May. I also plan on re-starting the BBG workouts tonight and keeping on track with those until Finn turns one (which is really only 2 months away). I was told the other day that stopping or starting a new habit takes about 60 days to do, so Finn's birthday is a really good goal for all of this.In all honesty, I'm only about 2 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight. I definitely feel like myself again, especially since the hormones have settled down since I stopped breastfeeding. I'm more impressed with how well my body bounced back than I am proud of myself for sticking to any kind of routine. Now, I want to see what happens when I actually set my mind to it!So here's what I plan on doing:
Workouts
- Follow this BBG workout guide. If you haven't looked into BBG before, you should. It's so easy to follow. She breaks things down for you each day, and each workout is roughly a half hour in length.
- I also want to take Juneau running/walking at least twice a week. I really miss this one-on-one time with my pup, and he truly benefits from it as well. I just need mother nature to cooperate!
Diet
- No sweets until May.
- Low carb, high protein choices.
- More water, less coffee.
Keeping track
- I'm not one for the weekly scale check-ins. I like the whole "my jeans fit better today" concept much better. However, for the sake of progress, I plan to step on the scale every Monday morning to see where the numbers fall.
So there goes it. This post may be more about keeping myself in line than anything else, but, whatever it takes, right? Also, in the spirit of being truly candid, I totally had a piece of chocolate cake last night for dinner :)
I know I kept it pretty vague over here, but if anyone wants to join me on this journey and keep each other in check,
