A Classic Winter Outfit

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. We spent the weekend running some errands and laying low. On Saturday night, David and I snuck away for a nice date night complete with sushi :) Then we stayed up way too late watching Netflix (currently working on a post about our recent faves on Netflix coming this week!) and Sunday I had one of those days where I felt like I couldn't catch up! Finn is getting a tooth, so he is a little clingy. He also woke up from his nap and couldn't put weight on his left leg, which had me super worried for a few hours! Fortunately, by dinner time he was running around like normal again, but it was one of those days where I went to bed feeling like the worst mom in the world!
Anyways, let's talk about happier things, like this outfit. The sweater is from Madewell, one of my favorite brands. I have learned over time that I'd much rather invest in a quality item that will last me years, and this is definitely one of those. It's such a classic cut, with the mock neck and cozy fit, and it's so warm! Like I said, it's a little pricey, but something that you will get a lot of wear out of!
Next up, these booties. I fell in love with them the moment I put them on my feet. They are so classic and versatile, and incredibly comfortable. I love the taupe color and that they will pretty much go with any outfit - dresses, jeans, workwear, you name it.
During Finn's naptime on Sunday I managed to clean out my closet. I had two large bags to donate afterwards. I found myself getting rid of plenty of items that were still in great shape, but too trendy or had limited ways to style them. Lesson learned - now I know why I buy so many gray sweaters, taupe booties and striped shirts - you can't go wrong with the classics!
