Life Lately - July 12, 2017
Happy Wednesday, folks! Hope your week is flying by like mine is. We are packing the car tonight and leaving tomorrow afternoon for a family wedding in Pennsylvania. I'm so excited because not only are my parents going to be there, but my sisters and my niece are flying in from Colorado and we've rented a house for a few days following the wedding. The five of us (my immediate family) haven't been together since our wedding two years ago - and though we've all spent time together sporadically over the last few years, we haven't all been together since the babies were born. So we are long overdue for some quality time!
Finn
We have a walker on our hands! Over the past few weeks, Finn has slowly started to let go of things and stand on his own. It was on the Fourth of July while we were at the pool where he finally took off and he hasn't slowed down since! I'm loving it! I know a lot of people have told me that we will have our hands full now, but I've wanted him to walk for so long now that I don't even care that he is getting into things. We went to the Nike store and bought him new sneakers, too. He looks adorable!
David
David has been working like crazy lately, and he is really enjoying his job. He deserves a break, though. We did the math and he hasn't had a day off in over two weeks! I told him that once we get to Pennsylvania, he is allowed to fish as much as he needs to.We celebrated our two year anniversary yesterday. We kept it low key and celebrated by eating a nice dinner at home. We aren't the flashy type, and I like it that way. We have a couple big trips planned in the next few months and we are hoping to buy a house by the end of the year so that is a good enough celebration for us. I really just enjoy his company, wherever we are!
House Hunting
Dare I say, we've found - the one! I won't spill too much about it, but it's better than anything I thought we might get in this crazy Charlottesville market. Nothing is signed or official yet, and I have to be patient with David and his checklists, but I haven't seen him smile over any of the other houses we've walked into like he did with this one. Cross your fingers for us!
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
Like every other blogger on the planet, I'll be posting about the big #NSale that starts tomorrow. Be sure to check back for my first reactions to the sale tomorrow. I'll be posting my favorite items and the best deals. In case you don't know about it, The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is one of the best and biggest of the year. Nordstrom deeply discounts brand new items - I'm talking cardigans, jeans, booties - all the fall essentials. Typically retailers discount the goods at the end of the season, but the #NSale discounts them before fall. Basically, it's a must-shop, and I'll be sure to keep it easy for you to find the best things. One last thing, if you have a Nordstrom Credit Card, you can shop early - starting tomorrow. If you don't have one, you'll have to wait until the sale opens to the public next week.
