Life Lately - August 31, 2017
And just like that, we are staring at Labor Day weekend. This summer was one of my favorites. Finn adds a new level of fun to our lives and gives us an excuse to spend more time outside at the pool or the park or just walking around town. Looking back to the beginning of summer, it's crazy how much he has changed.We are still knee deep in the house hunting process, but we are being patient, waiting for the right home to find us. We had our hearts broken a few times so we needed to reset and realize we aren't in any kind of hurry.
Finn
Oh this boy, he just melts me. He is talking so much more and is just so smart. He learns something new daily. Yesterday he signed something at me and I was like "umm where did you learn that child?". He picks up on things that I don't even realize.One of his favorite activities as of late - besides our daily walks to see the mm-birds- is going to Wegman's and watching the Choo Choo Train. He gets excited as soon as we park and we spend more time in the cheese section watching the train than actually grocery shopping.

Travel
As a 30th birthday gift to David, we are heading to Colorado in a few weeks so he can fish. And while he fishes, I get to spend time with my sisters and Natalie. Finn is making the trip with us as well. This won't be his first time flying, but I'm just as nervous. We went to Colorado when he was six weeks old, but the kid slept the whole time. I know that won't be the case this time, so I'm open to any advice you may have for keeping a crazy 16-month old child busy on a plane for 3-4 hours.
What I'm Watching
If you know me, you know my dirty secret is my absolute love for reality TV. It's sick. I watch it, I listen to podcasts about it, I read blogs and spoilers about it. Anything on Bravo, MTV, CBS, you name it. (I recently fell off the Bachelor bandwagon though and if you have to ask why, you aren't paying attention. Snore.)This summer, I've been binge watching old seasons of Survivor. Why? I don't know! I put the first season on one day on a whim and got hooked. Hulu has season 1, and then season 12-present for free. I have made it through to season 26 as of right now. Am I embarrassed? A little. But it's also made up for a less than mediocre season of Big Brother (which I also love but am so bored with right now) and has introduced me to a bunch of new podcasts. I know, I'm a dork.
Fall Plans
I recently looked at our calendar and realized that this fall is set to be a little crazy, in all the best ways. Already on our calendar we have: a trip to Colorado, a UVA football game, a girls night in Wintergreen followed by a beer festival, a visit from my parents, a wedding in Boston, David has three trips for work: Las Vegas, Raleigh, and DC. Whew! I'm already exhausted just thinking about it.In between our crazy lives I'm also re-launching my agency (coming Oct. 2) with my buddy and biz partner. We've been working hard so stay tuned! So excited. In addition, we have all the typical fall plans like pumpkin carving, picking out Finn's Halloween costume, making yummy chili, watching football and beating my entire family in Fantasy Football.
