Life Lately

Life has been going about a million miles per minute and I absolutely LOVE it! Between blogging, my full-time gig, being a mom and a wife, I've also been focusing on building my social media management company. I've had really good things happening in all aspects of my life lately, and I swear it all started with a shift in attitude. On top of all of that, we've been busy with, well, you know, life. Here are a couple of updates:

  • I know I mentioned this last week, but I'll be heading out west next weekend for a lot of celebrations. First, my cousin's fiancee is celebrating her bachelorette party in Las Vegas. I've never been, and I'm very intimated, but also really excited. We'll be staying at the Cosmopolitan and seeing the Backstreet Boys concert. I can't wait to check off a couple things from 30 things to do before 30 list - namely gambling, traveling alone, and going to a place I've never been.
  • While I'm out west, I'm going to be celebrating my niece's first birthday! I truly have no idea how Natalie is a year old already. I'm so, so, so excited to be able to be there for her birthday! I hate living so far away.
  • I had a weekend full of "showers" this past weekend. On Saturday, my mother-in-law, her sister and her mother all drove out to Richmond to celebrate David's cousin's fiancee's bridal shower. It was such a beautiful shower complete with great food and fun games. Jodie and Dustin get married at the end of April and I'm already anticipating a beautiful, rustic, outdoor wedding.
  • On Sunday, Finn and I traveled over the mountain to Harrisonburg to celebrate Jesa and baby Sadie. Austin, Jesa's fiancee, served with David in the Marine Corps. Since returning to Charlottesville, we have all reconnected and Jesa has become a great friend. I always say it, but it's just wonderful to have people around us that are in the same season of life as David and me.
  • My bestie from home, Michelle, bought me the cutest coffee mug for my birthday. It says "Bloggers Gonna Blog" - I've used it every day this week and flaunt it proudly. I miss you Michelle! Thank you for my bestie for life!
  • We've started planning Finn's first birthday! I know, it's still three months away, but with family all over the country, it's best to start planning early. We know we will be including a Lion King theme, simply because when 'Hakuna Matata' comes on, Finn is put into a trance! It's adorable, and hilarious. He doesn't do this with any other Disney music we've tried, just Lion King.
  • David finished building his first fly rod. He keeps bugging me to take pictures of it, and I really should cause it's super cool. I have never known someone so talented in these types of things. He picks up on these skills so quickly and spends so much time making them perfect, I'm really impressed. It's even cooler that he's decided to make Finn a rod for his first birthday too! It's something Finn will be able to pass down to his children one day and say that his Daddy made it for him :)
  • Finn has his 9 month check up yesterday and he is a healthy kid! He weighs 20.4 lbs, is 28 inches long, and has a head circumference of 17.5 inches - all within a few points of the 50th percentile. So, basically, we've got the most average baby ever :) Just kidding, we think he is the best!
