Home Decor Inspiration
Admittedly, like every other woman my age, I watch way too much HGTV. As we embark on this house hunt, I'm aware that whatever we buy at this point in the game will have to be tweaked and updated to meet our preferences. Our goal is to be in a home by October when our lease is up, and with that deadline in mind, we are realistic about what we can afford and the amount of work we are willing to put into something.Regardless of all our "rules" I can't stop thinking about what our future home will look like and how we will decorate. I stalk Pinterest for the most beautiful photos and save them to my home decor boards to give me inspiration in the coming months of home ownership. I'm a little intimidated because I've never really felt compelled to decorate a space before. I've talked about this before, but living in apartments for the last 7 years hasn't exactly inspired me. It seems almost a waste to spend the time and money on a temporary space. Knowing that we will be in a permanent home for the next X number of years is both exciting and overwhelming! I need all the help I can get!
The Kitchen
My idea of a dream home start in the kitchen. White, bright, open concept. I'd love an island and breakfast bar. Counter space would be a wonderful thing as well. Here's a little bit of my kitchen inspo:
Living Area
Having a kid changes things for any of your living spaces. Currently, our coffee table doubles as a toy chest and our decor is child-proofed or high and out of reach. Ideally, I'd love to have a fireplace where the television can be mounted above it. I'd love to have built ins, or even a separate space for Finn's toys. I know, I know... but this is my dream house, so a girl can dream!
Master Bedroom
In our current space, our master bedroom feels the most finished. I have a cozy, bright idea in my head for what I'm envisioning for our home. I'd love to have hardwood floors so we can buy a big cozy rug for under the bed.
