Life Lessons Learned From My Dad
With Father's Day on Sunday, I thought it would be a good chance to brag a little bit about the men in my life. I'm surrounded by some pretty stoic men, those who may wince at the slightest mention of emotion or sentiment. But you need to hear how much you're loved and appreciated, too!My Dad has always been an inspiration to me. He's owned his business for more than 30 years, providing a pretty awesome life for my mom and my sisters and me. He's pushed us way beyond our limits, waking us up at the crack of dawn to ensure we made first tracks on the ski slopes. He worked his butt of to throw David and I the wedding of our dreams in his backyard. In fact, he's always working his butt off. Even when he comes to visit, he sets up a makeshift office on our breakfast bar, answers phone calls at all hours of the day, and makes sure his business is still functioning even while he is hundreds of miles away. There are days where I just wish he would slow down already! However, I know it's just not in his character. He's passed his work ethic along to all of us, and I am forever grateful for that. Throughout our childhood, my dad was strict but super involved. Nowadays, he's lightened up quite a bit, providing comic relief in the form of a political rant or random email. He is the best grandfather, and I love watching him with Finn and Natalie. He's totally in his element.I think it goes without saying that my dad leaves an impression on just about everyone he meets. He's loud, opinionated, and just plain goofy - and totally unapologetic for being those things! He's always the life of the party.Dad - sorry it took me so long to get around to writing a blog post about you! But thank you for reading every day and being my biggest supporter. Love you lots and I hope you enjoy your Father's Day! Muah!
Happy Father's Day!
