Confidence

There's something really fun about dressing up, doing your makeup, and getting your husband to take photos of you. David makes me feel like a model (LOL), and always tells me I look wonderful (even when I look back to edit them and realize my hair is doing some funky things). It gives me a sort of confidence that I think I've always been missing. Sure, these photos aren't perfect. But I love showing off how I style my outfits, even if it's a simple look like this one.Confidence is a weird thing, especially for women. Too much of it, and you come off cocky and even bitchy. Like you believe you are above everyone else. Too little of it and it can cause some real damage to your self-esteem.For me, my confidence is built from those who mean the most to me. Being told I look wonderful or that I'm a good mom or that I have a great work ethic - these things make me a strong woman, and encourage me to continue the way I am going. I always try to pass along the message, too, because making others feel good is an even better feeling! In the same way, I'm making it a priority to build my confidence internally as well. It's important for me to have a healthy self-image. Posting these pictures is a step forward in that process. Even a few months ago, I would be hesitant to put these photos on the internet for everyone to see. As I get older I realize there is more that effects your confidence than just how you look. So next time you find yourself wanting to point out all of your flaws Mean Girls Style (at least you guys can wear halter tops, I've got man shoulders) try to switch your thinking into what you love about yourself - both inside and out!
