Pregnancy Update: 30 Weeks
How Far Along: 30 weeksWhat is Baby G Up To?: This baby loves to move. Everything I read keeps saying that my baby will have a typical schedule by now. But Baby G's schedule just involves moving. Whether I'm sitting, laying, standing, walking or whatever, I constantly feel movement in my belly. And now we can see the movement, too. It's bizarre to watch little feet and elbows poke out at me when Baby G is readjusting. If Baby G's movement inside the womb is hinting on how Baby will be outside, we are all in trouble. This child will not be slowing down. Besides the movement, Baby G is as long as a cucumber this week. (What a weird food to compare a child to.)How I’m Feeling: Tired. I've hit the uncomfortable period in this pregnancy where every sleeping position is useless and I end up moving around more than sleeping. I really can't complain, though. I've had a very healthy and normal pregnancy so far. What I’m Wearing: Anything that fits and doesn't make me feel like a million pounds. Emily is sending me her maternity clothes since she will no longer need them. To think I still have 10 more weeks of this is a little unfair since she's already met her little bundle of joy! What’s On My Mind Lately: With Emily's baby coming early, it's hard for me to not think about Baby G arriving earlier than expected as well. As much as my body would love to have the baby a bit early, my professional life would not. I work in a very project-oriented role and I've been busting my butt to get everything done by May 1st, which gives myself about three weeks of leeway just in case. Right now, I'm on schedule to reach that goal, so hopefully Baby G will stay put until I'm in a good place at work :). (Yes, I realize every mom out there is giggling a little to themselves right now at how naive I sound!!)What I’m Craving: Am I the first pregnant woman to not crave anything specific? I haven't really had cravings since mid-second trimester. Maybe it has something to do with my shrinking stomach. I no longer can eat the amount of food I was eating just a few weeks ago. This baby has taken over my insides and has squished my tiny stomach into nothing. It would be okay, but an hour after eating and feeling stuffed I find myself hungry again. Not only is Baby G squeezing my stomach into nothing, Baby is also eating all of my food! What I’m Looking Forward To: This week we are meeting with our potential pediatrician. Although we have been going to countless doctors appointments and birthing classes, I still have questions that I think only a pediatrician should answer. Meeting with her is also a reminder that we are close... very, very close... to the end!Best Moment of the Week: Juneau was acting a bit strange the other night. He was on the hunt for something and he kept coming back to my belly. I'm convinced he heard Baby G crying! I've read countless articles about how dogs can hear babies inside the womb, and I'm pretty sure that's what Juneau was exploring. It was adorable.
